Filbert Press commissioned us to design The Crevice Garden by Kenton Seth and Paul Spriggs, two leading enthusiasts in this specialist gardening field. The book offers detailed guidance on designing, constructing, and planting crevice gardens.

Our role

We led cover design and internal layouts, creating a contemporary yet approachable design that supported the authors’ in-depth expertise while appealing to a wide gardening readership.

Balancing expertise with accessibility

The layouts combine playful typography with the authors’ own botanical drawings of plants and rocky formations. These illustrations are paired with informative how-to features, step-by-step guides, and the extensive plant directory — making the content as practical as it is beautiful.
