Our role
We commissioned illustrators to bring personality and warmth to each title. For Maya Angelou’s Guide to Hope, Sarah Madden created vibrant patterns inspired by Angelou’s clothing, capturing her spirit of strength and resilience. For Keanu Reeves’ Guide to Kindness, Holly Jolley’s playful illustrations highlighted Reeves’ generosity and humanity. Across both books, we crafted layouts and typography to balance accessibility with a sense of collectability.
Designing distinct yet connected books
Though each book reflects the unique character of its subject, the design approach ensured continuity across the series — bold colours, dynamic layouts, and illustrations paired with clear typography give the titles a strong shelf presence as both individual volumes and part of a wider set.
Impact
The 50 Guides series brings together illustration and design to create joyful, giftable books that capture the spirit of their subjects while offering practical inspiration for everyday life.
