DK commissioned us to design Be More Moo Deng: The Unofficial Colouring Book, celebrating the pygmy hippo whose cuteness has captured hearts worldwide. With over 35 new illustrations by Zoë More O’Ferrall, the book invites fans to add colour to Moo Deng’s antics — from naps to snacks to globe-trotting adventures.
Our role
We designed the cover and internal layouts, creating a playful, fast-paced design to match Moo Deng’s personality. Squishy, bubbly typography set the tone, while the layouts gave each of Zoë’s illustrations room to shine.
Creative approach
The project had an exceptionally tight turnaround — moving from concept to final artwork in just two weeks to meet a Christmas launch. Every design choice balanced speed with craft, ensuring the book felt joyful, cohesive, and ready for fans.
Impact
The book became a cheerful, gifty tribute to Moo Deng.
