Making horticulture approachable

We were commissioned by Quarto Books (The Bright Press) to redesign RHS Gardening School: Everything You Need to Know to Get the Most from Your Garden. The revised edition needed to feel fresh, approachable, and more practical for a new generation of gardeners.

We designed the full set of internal pages, creating a clear visual structure that broke down complex horticultural information into digestible sections.

Layouts were carefully balanced with step-by-step photography, diagrams, and line drawings, while typography was chosen to aid clarity and encourage confidence. By pairing an approachable tone with clear visual hierarchy, we made the wealth of RHS expertise feel accessible and easy to navigate.

Praised by The English Garden as “just the thing for someone discovering the pastime … ideal for those who have just acquired a garden of some size,” the revised design reinforces the RHS’s authority while inviting new gardeners into the fold.
