Designing a curriculum-aligned children’s series

DK commissioned us to design and illustrate Super Planet, a bold new educational series launching in 2025. Each book explores a different aspect of the natural world and beyond — from Wonderful Waterways and Who’s Eating Who? to Global Gardens and Mountains.

We designed and illustrated the interiors across 12 books, working on them in parallel to ensure consistency of design and illustration across the full series. Collaborating closely with DK’s editorial and education teams, we developed a flexible system of layouts, infographics, and illustrations that could adapt to the specific needs of each title while maintaining a cohesive look.

Our approach combines clear typographic hierarchies with vibrant illustrations and easy-to-navigate infographics. Each spread is designed to balance information with discovery, encouraging children to explore ideas through both text and hands-on experiments.

The Super Planet series is both curriculum-aligned and visually compelling, built to inspire a generation of curious readers. The successful collaboration led DK to commission a further series Super History.
