We were commissioned to design The Body Literacy Library, an accessible health series that helps readers understand the body’s major systems in a clear and empowering way. The series began with Gut: An Owner’s Guide, followed by Heart: An Owner’s Guide, Brain: An Owner’s Guide, and Skin: An Owner’s Guide, the latest addition.

Our role
We created the internal layouts and designed bespoke medical infographics for each title, ensuring complex medical information could be presented with clarity and authority. We also designed conceptual chapter openers, using playful illustrations to capture themes and feelings — from the rhythm of the heart to the intricacy of the brain.

Turning science into clarity
Each book combines structured typography with carefully designed infographics and illustrations, enabling readers to navigate anatomy and health step by step. The layouts are crafted to balance seriousness with accessibility, encouraging readers to explore and engage with confidence.

Impact
The success of Gut led to the commissioning of three further titles — Heart, Brain, and Skin — establishing The Body Literacy Library as a cohesive and visually compelling health brand that makes science approachable for a new generation of readers.
“I’m currently working on my second project with Studio Noel and can only say that they are a total joy to work with. Brilliant, innovative designs created in super-quick time and delivered with a smile that is so often missing in high-pressure situations where schedules are ridiculously tight. The team bring insight, professionalism and a can-do attitude to a project that makes it just so easy to work alongside them.”
