Making Jude’s brand deliciously book-worthy

Kyle Books commissioned Jude’s Ice Cream & Desserts, a recipe book celebrating the award-winning British ice-cream makers. Known for working with top chefs to create uniquely mouth-watering flavours, Jude’s wanted their first cookbook to bring the brand’s personality into print while showcasing recipes for desserts and bakes.

Our role

We led design, ensuring the book translated Jude’s brand identity into a vibrant, giftable cookbook. Every choice — from cover to icons — was made to keep the brand present while letting the recipes shine.

Bringing the brand to life in print

The cover combines gold-foiled type with Jude’s signature coloured stripes, echoed as chapter openers throughout the book. Chapter introductions sit inside playful shapes — from cones to sundaes — while photographic endpapers feature the full line-up of Jude’s ice-cream tubs, creating a colourful opening and close.

Heroing the recipes

Clean, contemporary typography paired with bold photography ensures the recipes remain centre stage. Running footers using Jude’s logo and a dessert spoon add a playful branded touch to every page. Icons in Jude’s packaging style highlight vegan options, no-churn recipes, and tips for making ice cream at home, improving navigation and usability.

Impact

The design captured Jude’s brand identity in a joyful, gift-worthy cookbook — the first such recipe book from Jude’s, showcasing ambitious recipe breadth from vegan ice creams to celebration desserts. By retaining strong visual branding and recipe diversity, it positions Jude’s beyond tubs and into lifestyle publishing.
