Hardie Grant Books
Keeping it simple through bold, joyful design

Keeping it simple on the page
Hardie Grant Books commissioned Keeping it Simple by New York author Yasmin Fahr, a cookbook of over 60 one-pot dinners. The challenge was to capture Yasmin’s vibrant personality while making the book as accessible and practical as the recipes themselves.

Our role
We led art direction, design, and illustration, building a creative framework that echoed the author’s energy and approach to food. Every choice — from photography to typography — was designed to make cooking feel both joyful and easy.

A design full of character
Large-scale chapter openers with photography by Patricia Niven pair with playful typography to bring Yasmin’s spirit to life. To add pace and guide readers through the book

Illustrating simplicity
In-house illustrations add warmth to step-by-step guides and how-to moments, ensuring clarity and personality.

Impact
Named one of the Best New Cookbooks of Spring 2020 by The New York Times, Forbes, and Esquire UK.
